HOW TO USE
-
UsageProperly prepared interior and exterior concrete and masonry surfaces including garage floors, driveways, basement floors, laundry rooms, porches and patios.
-
PrepThe surface must be clean, dry and free of all loose or peeling paint and contaminants. Bare Concrete: Allow new surfaces to cure at least 30 days before clear coating. Clean and etch new or bare concrete with Valspar® Fast Prep® Cleaner, Degreaser & Etcher. Follow all Fast Prep label instructions. After proper etching, the surface should feel like 120‐grit sandpaper and rapidly absorb water. To test absorption, spray various sections of the surface to be coated with water. If the water does not absorb rapidly, or if the surface does not feel like 120-grit sandpaper, then etch again. After etching, rinse the surface thoroughly and let dry for at least 24 hours. Previously Painted/StainedConcrete: Can be applied as a protective clear coat over water-based coatings that are properly cleaned and in good condition. Allow freshly painted surfaces to dry at least 72 hours before clear coating. Remove wax and grease with an all-purpose cleaner (TSP or substitute). Rinse the surface thoroughly and let dry for at least 24 hours.
-
ApplicationMix well before and during use. Apply with a high-quality, polyester brush, 1/4" or 3/8" nap roller, or pump sprayer. Applies milky white and dries clear in approximately 1 hour. First Coat: Apply the product along any edges or corners using a brush. For pump spraying, use a fine spray setting and apply in a circular motion. DO NOT OVERAPPLY. Back-roll after pump spraying to remove excess material and achieve a more uniform finish. Spread product evenly with a roller and finish with long, even strokes in the same direction. Second Coat: Two coats are recommended for most applications. Wait 2 hours for second coat. Apply second coat at right angle to the first coatin a criss-cross pattern. Do not allow water to pond or puddle on newly coated surfaces.
